High protein and low carb diet is not is not recommended for all. This diet is appropriate for those people who are overweight and want to reduce their weight. When you eat less carb then the brain gets less hormone that triggers hunger. Thus it reduces appetite and promotes weight loss.

This diet urge to take low amount of carb but assure that the carbs you are having is as nutritious as need to keep your calories need balanced. It is good to eat variety of carbs such as bread, whole wheat pasta and brown rice. This carbs are very high in fiber and necessary amount of nutrients. But it will not be a good idea to eat processed or sugar rich carbs.
While you are following high protein and low carb diet that does not mean that you will skip other nutrients such as vitamin, minerals and calcium rich foods. Any diet will provide you the desired result only if you keep consume other nutrients as it is needed.
